SATURDAY - 11.08.12
Had to sing for worship today, and today wasn't just any other F.L.Y service... Because today was 'Awakening'. It's when my church's youth ministry split into different groups according to our batch and whatnot and head around Singapore's mrt to silently pray for the many things that are happening around us... the people, stuff that happens outside the trains, our surrounding, basically it's just like doing our quiet time on the train.
Talking about worship, we had a new vocalist today and her name was Mei Lin. Very smart girl. Basically that type of girl who comes from a very prestigious school, good grades and stuff like that. Yeah, she's really nice and has a decent voice too :) Yay! a new vocalist! :D
Worship was really refreshing not only because of the new songs that we sung (they were new to me at least) but it was because i could really feel a lot more of god's presence today :)
Maybe it's because i haven't really had the time to actually put aside the work that i was doing and worship him which i feel guilty about :( i really have to change my attitude towards my priorities now.
Anyways, after worship, Kenneth, Bryan and i took the North-south line from Jurong East to Bishan and back to Bartley. I took the middle carriage, Bryan took the last carriage and Kenneth took the first carriage. The three of us then prayed for the people around us, the stuff that we haven't really had time to look at. The way people acted, the government, the MPs etc. and this might have been said by somebody else in church but i really agree that this shouldn't be a one time kind of thing. It should happen everyday when we travel. Because every little prayer counts and it really helps a lot. If we were to pray while travelling for the people around us everyday, our prayers would accumulate and eventually something great is bound to happen. and i believe it will happen when our god is that strong and mighty :)
So we all gathered back at church at around 5pm and had some people share with us their thoughts and reflections on what they experienced while praying in the trains. I was really intrigued by what they had to say. Especially Javier who was although angry, but was right about the way we think about this whole activity. I really have to agree with him about how he used to think that this activity was just a waste of time since our prayers are so 'insignificant' but has now realized that our prayers, in fact all of our individual prayers are equally as powerful. and this is really random, but i think that if he wasn't strict at all about what he had to say, then i don't think that he could actually convey his message to the younger ones who were kinda restless i guess? No offense you guys who are reading this.. Xavier, Dylan, yeah... aha just to name a few la. :E
But i was pretty glad i came down to church today. Learnt lots of new and interesting stuff today too :)
Ok, this is impromptu but i'm just gonna end my blog here. Well, good night my fellow friends(:
XOXO
Shaun
